This Sound Changes Everything
Widex Moment is a revolutionary ultra-premium product from the Danish family owned business. They make the bold claim that every hearing aid will be compared to their new Widex Moment hearing instrument.
This is a bold and exciting claim lets look at why this claim is made and why it is true.
The hearing aid industry since it moved to electronics has had to accept some laws of physics and the limitations that go with it. Hearing aids and hearing technology after all are not natural devices and rely on human designs and the latest technology to deliver correct sound to our ears. We are of course limited by the technology that is available at a given time.
This is why hearing aids can be difficult or impossible for some people to accept. Their brain can’t align what is natural with what is artificial.
Pure Sound System
Widex feel that with the moment they have solved the problem between artificial sound and natural sound meaning any user will be able to accept hearing aids and feel confident while wearing hearing devices.
Widex have developed a system that is so fast it can match the natural world. They are calling this system Pure Sound.
This is how they achieve this natural sound quality delivered by Pure Sound.
Zero Delay
Let’s start by asking the question Why does a hearing aid sound like a hearing aid? One of the draw backs of hearing aids is something called digital echo. Hearing aid wearers often complain a sound is either to tinny or they feel like everything is an echo. Why? Simply this is because there is a difference in speed between the spoken word that comes out my mouth and the processed same words that come out the hearing aids.
For example, if I say to you ‘Let’s go for a walk’ you will hear that naturally then milliseconds later you will hear the hearing aid send you those words processed differently. This will create an echo sound on poorer quality hearing aids and a tinny sound on most others.
ZeroDelay technology in the Widex instrument can process the sound from your voice so fast that you now no longer hear that echo or that tinny sound. This is very important for many people who really struggle with hearing aids particularly first-time users.
A chip that is so fast that it will offer no delay is going to give the user hearing that is on par with those of normal hearing if they hearing aid is fitted correctly.
TruAcoustics
The best hearing aid in the world will not perform the best if it is not fitted in the correct manner. The vast majority of hearing aids are fitted with no custom-made ear tips or no internal performance measurements. This greatly affects how well you can hear.
With Widex TruAcoustics the hearing aids chip will analyse the hearing aid that is fitted in your ear. The hearing aid will run a test and make sure your hearing aid is fitted properly and performing as it should in your ear.
Does my current hearing aid not do this? No, your current hearing aid will check for leakage and if there is too much it will cut out some performance but it won’t change how it works if the fitting is poor.
Standard fittings which don’t involve a customer fitted ear piece are about 90% of the private market. They generally come in 4 sizes but ears come in millions of sizes. Widex have taken this into account and can now measure the effectiveness of the hearing aid in your ear and make the necessary adjustments to make sure you are benefitting as you should from the technology you have decided is right for you.
This is a massive leap forward and will add is essential to providing you with natural sound quality.
At Lanarkshire Hearing Centre we always advise you consider custom fitting moulds as this is always the best option for the best sound quality.

Widex Premium Receiver
Unlike other manufacturers who contract out receiver manufacturing Widex make their own. The receiver on your hearing aid is the part that delivers the sound to the ear so we can safely say it’s a very important piece of equipment. Widex have developed a receiver that is based on the most comfortable fit while delivering ultra-premium sound. They do this by using the best quality conductive material and metals that can be found.
Artificial Intelligence

By moving your head forward and backwards your listening challenges can change. You need a hearing instrument that can change its algorithm with your movement because we’re never static. That’s what AI does kin Widex.
AI also designs unique listening processing for YOU! You can train your hearing aids and tell them how you want to hear and what you want them to sound like by using the excellent Widex Soundlense learn which is found in the Widex app.
